A push for a change in the way nursing numbers are decided, after a health boss criticised a boost in employment

A push for a change in the way nursing numbers are decided, after a health boss criticised a boost in employment

Health Commissioner Lester Levy is blaming Health Zealand for employing 3000 more nurses than budgeted for.

He says the agency will improve productivity, while turning around its over 1.4 billion dollar deficit.

Nurses Organisation Chief Paul Goulter says the number of nurses needs to be determined by demand.
