The worst of Taranaki's weather is over - but there's still more rain to come

The worst of Taranaki's weather is over - but there's still more rain to come

Three vehicles, including a bus, are stuck in floodwaters on State Highway 3 in Stratford.

Heavy rain warnings and watches are still in place for much of the North Island.

An emergency operation centre has been stood up in Taranaki - which has faced the brunt of the weather system.

New Plymouth Mayor Neil Holdom says they're preparing for another 120 millimetres over the next two days.

He says there's concern how two-waterlogged catchments will cope come high tide.
