    A 1-nil away defeat against Mexico has the Football Ferns coach marking his side's efforts as a "can do better"


    The only goal in the game was a gift from a corner 10 minutes in, after a defensive mix-up.

    But Michael Mayne says the Ferns weren't at their best so while it was a defeat, there was plenty to take away from the Mexico game ... ahead of the rematch in three days' time.

    The All Blacks vice-captain's under no illusions as to what awaits in the first match of their end-of-year tour.
