Addison Rae uses clothes as "mind control" because changing her outfit can affect her mood

The 25-year-old social media star has opened up about her love of fashion and admitted she often wears outfits to change the way she's feeling because clothes can have a massive impact on her outlook on life.

She told PEOPLE: "I chase whatever spark is ignited, sometimes without knowing where I'll end up. It can start with a color, or fabric, even a feeling.

"My fashion can also influence my music. Clothes are mind control.

"If I don't feel beautiful, sometimes I'll dress more glamorously or feminine in hopes that it convinces me that I am. Other times, I just wear what's comfortable or what matches my mood."

Addison also revealed her make-up is constantly changing to suit her mood and she's taken this into her current music tour as she's mixing up her looks every night on stage.

She explained: "Glam on tour is ever-changing for me. Sometimes it's the more glitter the better, other times it's just [make-up on the] lips and cheeks."

Addison previously revealed she has "grown into" her sense of style - admitting she barely recognises herself in photos from just a few years ago because she has changed so much.

She told ELLE: "Looking at pictures of myself from two years ago, I'm like: I don't know her.

"I've grown into my style a lot the past few years, and as I'm getting older and experiencing more of life and different people, I'm discovering more things that I like and that inspire me."

She added: "I feel really comfortable with myself and my body now, but that's obviously something I've had to work on and learn how to do.

"Because it's really hard to love the things about yourself that maybe people don't want you to love.

"Learning how to style my body type and understanding what looks good and feels good on me has been a big thing.

"Every body is so different, so something that looks great on someone else might not look the same on me. And that's fine. It's about finding things you love, but in a way that makes you feel the most confident - and making it your own."
