Kaia Gerber loves getting ready for a night out

The 24-year-old model often "doesn't actually care" what happens when she meets up with her friends because she has already had "the best time" in her bedroom making herself look her best.

She told HarpersBazaar.com: "When I was younger and modelling a lot, I almost never wore make-up outside of my job; I didn't have that itch in my personal life.

"But now that I'm older, I've really started to love and appreciate the act of getting ready.

" I just love being a girl so much, and the fact that you can take as much time as you need to get ready. It's one of my favourite parts of the day.

"I've fallen in love with make-up again. I love getting ready - it's almost like meditation for me, especially if I'm getting ready with friends.

"Once I get to dinner, I don't actually care because I just had the best time getting ready.

"I think there's a common misconception that we need to wear make-up for other people, and maybe that's true for some people, but I feel most of the women that I talk to are not wearing make-up for other people - they're wearing it for themselves - myself included."

When she is getting ready, Kaia enjoys listening to music and catching up with friends because she doesn't want to rush the process.

She said: "I always play music. Lately, it's weirdly been the soundtrack to Rent. I don't know why.

"I'm all over the place, but I love to play music.

"I will put my hair in curlers - there's something about your hair in curlers while you do your make-up that feels so right to me. I leave myself so much time because I love not rushing.

"I also love calling or FaceTiming someone while I'm doing my make-up, or talking to a friend if they're with me.

"One of my guy friends sits on the floor next to my vanity or on my counter and chats with me while I'm doing my make-up."
