    Andy Dick claims he left with "five to seven holes" in his brain after his apparent overdose

    The 60-year-old star - who has been candid about his long struggle with addiction - was photographed outside a building in Hollywood in December being administered Narcan, which reverses the effects of an opioid overdose, and he has opened up about the aftermath of the terrifying incident.


    Appearing on the Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast, he noted that his heart stopped beating and he was "purple, not breathing", while he only remember "waking up in the ambulance".

    Andy said doctors scanned his head, revealing "about five to seven holes" in his brain, which has affected his memory.

    Howie suggested he might mean "lesions", but the comedian added: "That's not the word I remember they used."

    TMZ had shared shocking photos of Andy at the time, in which he was slumped over outside a 7-Eleven while two friends tried to help him.

    Eyewitness Shawn Harrell, told PEOPLE magazine: "His body was limp. It was like deadweight. It was blue. I thought he passed away."

    Andy entered rehab shortly after the incident, and he revealed he's currently staying at a sober living community where he can't use any substances.

    He explained: "They drug test you. I'm not high. I don't take pills. I don't do anything except coffee."

    The Road Trip actor credited getting "bored easily" with turning to drugs and alcohol, which he acknowledged "sounds dumb".

    He admitted: "I like fun. I like a little bit of danger."

    Howie - who is sober himself after struggling with booze during the COVID-19 pandemic - told Andy that he's "not protecting" his life and career, especially after noting he can't guarantee he'll stay sober.

    But the comic argued: "It's not like I'm out there like, 'I'm gonna wake up and throw it away today'. [But] sometimes I do actually have that thought."

    Andy - who has adult children Lucas, Meg and Jacob, and a third grandchild on the way - insisted he will do his best for his family's sake.

    He said: "I have to, buddy, I just have to. Do you know how hard it is for me?"
