Worksafe says an investigation's confirmed there were no problems with the gas network before last year's major gas explosion in Christchurch

Worksafe says an investigation's confirmed there were no problems with the gas network before last year's major gas explosion in Christchurch

The work safety authority has charged two parties today under the Gas Act - in relation to the blast that seriously injured six people and damaged a number of homes damaged in Marble Court last July.

A spokesperson says residents can be assured there was no issue with gas reticulation or gas supply - as the problem was isolated to one property.

She says they can't provide details of the cause - as the matter is before the courts.

The first court appearance will be on August 18.
