A man's been arrested after a firearm was presented at Police in Auckland's Glen Eden this morning

A man's been arrested after a firearm was presented at Police in Auckland's Glen Eden this morning

At about 10.30am, Police signalled two people on dirt bikes to stop -- but the pair fled.

One presented a firearm when stopped by officers on Brunner Road, then ran to a nearby address.

Officers immediately armed, and back up arrived, before the 28-year-old emerged and was taken into custody.

A loaded firearm has since been located.

Waitemata District Commander, Superintendent Naila Hassan says support's being provided to staff.

Charges are yet to be laid.
