Joey King is being sued over a car crash

The 'Kissing Booth' actress is the subject of legal action from Parviz Mohammady, who alleged she merged into his lane and collided with his vehicle when he was driving in Los Angeles in February, and has failed to respond to his communications since

The man's attorney, Kamelia Jalilvand, told TMZ her client was driving northbound when Joey pulled out of a metered parking spot and straight into Parviz's car, and the crash not only damaged the right side of his vehicle, but caused a tear in his shoulder, and a pre-existing condition meant the injury was worse and ultimately required surgery.

Although the pair exchanged insurance information at the scene, Parviz claimed he still hasn't been compensated for the damage caused by the crash.

The lawyer said: "Due to the collision, Mr. Mohammady sustained significant injuries, which necessitated surgical intervention. We hope that through the lawsuit, Ms. King will accept responsibility and compensate our client for his damages."

The man is suing for unspecificed damages.

A spokesperson for the actress has yet to respond.

Meanwhile, Joey used her Comedy Movie Star win at the People's Choice Awards earlier this month to announce 'The Kissing Booth 3' will be released next summer.

Speaking as she accepted the honour, she said: "I told myself if I won, I would share a very exciting piece of news with everybody. I want to tell you that 'The Kissing Booth 3', our final instalment, is going to be released in summer 2021. I'm so excited! I wish it was tomorrow.

"I really wish it was tomorrow. Thank you guys so much! Thank you for loving this movie and for loving this character as much as I do. It just means so much."

'The Kissing Booth 2' also took home the award for Comedy Movie of 2020 at the ceremony and Joey was pleased that the film was able to spread happiness in what has been a challenging year amid the coronavirus crisis.

She said: "This year has been so weird. I'm not gonna be the first person to say that tonight on this stage.

"But the fact that our movie and my character brought some laughter to everybody at home, that makes me smile. That makes me feel so good. That makes me feel so happy. I want to thank our director, Vince Marcello, and I want to thank Netflix."
