Nurses are continuing their fight for safer staffing - with another round of industrial action

Nurses are continuing their fight for safer staffing - with another round of industrial action

More than 36-thousand Nurses' Organisation members will strike from 7am to 11pm today, and again on Thursday.

Union delegate Noreen McCallan says nurses have been pushing Health New Zealand for a solution to workforce shortages, for over a year.

She says it hasn't come up with anything that provides any assurance it's interested in safe staffing levels.

Health New Zealand says thousands of procedures and appointments could be postponed - but care will still be there for those who need it.
