A Customs investigation has lead to the arrest of two Romanian nationals for offences linked to card skimming

Officers recovered various tools and equipment used in skimming, when the pair were arrested in downtown Auckland last night.

Investigations operations manager Stephen Waugh says the investigation began with a series of suspicious packages.

He says the evidence would have allowed the pair to create credit credit cards using stolen information.

Waugh says all the evidence and other information now needs to be looked at, to see how far the pair went with their alleged activities.
