New Zealand cricket coach Gary Stead has issued a blunt assessment of the Black Caps' 50-run loss in the fourth Twenty20 cricket international against Australia in Wellington

New Zealand cricket coach Gary Stead has issued a blunt assessment of the Black Caps' 50-run loss in the fourth Twenty20 cricket international against Australia in Wellington

The result levels the five-match series 2-all with the decider set to be played in front of alert level one crowds on Sunday.

Kyle Jamieson top-scored for the hosts with 30 off 18 balls, but also conceded 26 off the final over as part of visiting captain Aaron Finch's unbeaten 79 from 55 balls on an ageing drop-in pitch.

    Here's Stead's summary.

Tim Southee has been reprimanded with a demerit point for breaching level one of the ICC code of conduct.

He showed dissent at an umpire's decision.
