Henry Golding and his wife Liv Lo Golding have welcomed their first child into the world

The 'Crazy Rich Asians' star and his spouse - who is taking 40 days maternity leave - took to Instagram to announce the arrival of their little bundle of joy, who was born on March 31

Alongside a series of snaps from the hospital and one of their newborn holding onto her mom's hand, Liv announced: "On March 31st our lives changed forever. Link in bio of leaving Instagram for #maternityleave (for the time being). I’ll prob be up during midnight breastfeeds checking in on you, but otherwise “I’ll be back” xx (sic)"

Henry also posted a sweet black and white picture of the family of three and gushed in the caption: “This woman right here. Beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Your strength brought us our greatest joy. Thank you, I love you.”

The couple announced their pregnancy news in November and explained why they've decided to keep details about their child private, including their gender and name.

The 34-year-old star said: "We know the sex. We’re keeping it on the down-low.

"We’ve got a name sort of rattling around, which I think it’s only fair that she … my wife, she thinks that the baby should actually hear the name first.

"So, we’ve been trying to hold out on telling anyone. We’ve got the baby room sorted. We’ve got about a month and a half left, I think, of sanity I hear. But you can only be as prepared as possible.

"I think you have to learn on the fly in some respects. It’s a marathon. So we’re going to take it easy."

The 'Last Christmas' star also admitted he wants to be a "cool dad".

Henry said: "I want to be one of those cool dads.

"It’s harder than it sounds. I think, I’m sure your kids go through phases of you being that greatest hero, to the most embarrassing human in their eyes. So I look forward to living out all of those."
