Former All Black Sonny Bill Williams has applauded the ditching of McLennan

Speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald, Williams says he commends the board on making the decision and not mucking around.

He says he sees the whole ordeal, including the end of the Eddie Jones debacle, as presenting the opportunity for a reset for Australian Rugby.

Williams says he saw through Jones' antics and big talking and the alleged meeting with Japan about taking that job days before the World Cup was "comical"
