The party leader has spoken to the Herald's On The Tiles podcast about a post-election campaign review, conducted by a Minister under Clark's government, Maryan Street.
Labour lost Minister's Stuart Nash and Michael Wood over breaches to the Cabinet manual last year - and Kiri Allan over a careless driving incident.
Hipkins says it happened in rapid succession - and the combination with high inflation made people feel Labour was focused on itself - not on fixing the cost of living.
