A police detective has told a jury, the car registered to the man accused of killing Yanfei Bao - was found saturated with water

Tingjun Cao is on trial charged with murder.

Bao's body was found buried more than a year after she disappeared on July 19, last year.

Detective Mark Kolmer says it took days to dry the vehicle for forensic examination.

He says the interior, especially the rear passenger foot well, was completely soaked and there was standing water inside the boot.

Kolmer says the dehumidifier collected about 19 litres of water.
