Pharrell Williams got sacked by McDonald's on three separate occasions

The 51-year-old Grammy Award-winning producer and musician has recalled getting in a spot of bother during his "first and only job" when he worked at the fast food chain

He told BBC Radio 2 host Jo Whiley: "McDonald's was my first and only job. I got fired three times. I was eating the chicken nuggets."

The 'Happy' hitmaker admitted on all three occasions, they were probably justified in firing him.

He added: "The first two times it was just because I was lazy. The third was like, 'What are you doing? You're just sitting there eating nuggets?' "

Pharrell recently confessed explained how he didn't realise that he had the necessary "drive" to go with his creative talents because he has worked in the music industry from a young age.

He told Britain's HELLO! magazine: "Everybody is born with creativity, but some are born with a pronounced connection to it. Some are born with drive. Some are creative but don't feel the drive. Some don't necessarily have the best creativity, but they want it so bad.

"I didn't know I had this kind of drive. I considered myself lazy for years, but I just wasn't inspired.

"If I'm motivated, I'll be the first one in on Monday morning and the last one to leave on Friday night. I've been blessed that early on in my life, I've been connected to what I love."

The musician - whose life story is being told in Lego form in new movie 'Piece By Piece' - only committed to the project after being convinced by the concept.

During an appearance on 'The Graham Norton Show', he said: "I do things that I am curious and enthusiastic about and a documentary about me is not interesting, so I said no at first. Then my very persistent agent said I could do it what any way I wanted.

"When I said I wanted to do it with the best documentary-maker Morgan Neville and for him to tell it anyway he wanted, but in Lego, my agent said, 'No, no, no.' But then everyone said yes.

"This project is the sum of lots of yeses and is what impossible looks like. Whether you are eight or 80 it's not too late to build your dream piece by piece."
