An Auckland mental health helpline is greeting the vast majority of its callers in less than a minute

An Auckland mental health helpline is greeting the vast majority of its callers in less than a minute

Health New Zealand's Auckland Contact Centre fielded up to 3400 monthly calls between November last year and September.

Data shows the contact centre answered half of the calls in 11 seconds or less.

90-percent connected the caller with a helpline worker in 52 seconds or less.

The wait time begins after the caller is given a standard 17-second greeting.
