The Critics Choice Awards have been delayed again

The annual awards ceremony was originally due to take place on January 12, but after the Palisades Fire got out of control on January 7, it was pushed back until January 26 out of respect of those who had been impacted by the devastating infernos - which have now claimed 25 lives and spread across several other areas of Los Angeles.

The show has now been pushed back to February, with an exact date to be confirmed, Variety reports.

The ceremony was due to be held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica and will still be hosted by comedian Chelsea Handler.

Critics Choice Awards CEO Joey Berlin said on January 8: "This unfolding tragedy has already had a profound impact on our community.

"All our thoughts and prayers are with those battling the devastating fires and with all who have been affected."

The fires saw SAG cancel their live nominations broadcast on January 8, opting for a press release announcement instead, while movies including 'The Last Showgirl', 'Wolf Man' and 'Unstoppable' cancelled their red carpet premieres.

In addition, events due to take place in the area such as the BAFTA Tea Party, the AFI Awards luncheon and AARP's Movies for Grownups were all postponed.

And the Oscars nominations have been pushed back by two days until January 19 after the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences opted to extend the voting period because "so many" of its members live where the blaze began in the Palisades.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, in a letter regarding voting for the Academy Awards, the organisation said: "We want to offer our deepest condolences to those who have been impacted by the devastating fires across Southern California.

"So many of our members and industry colleagues live and work in the Los Angeles area, and we are thinking of you.'

"'Given the fire situation, we want to share some updates regarding an extension to the Oscars nominations voting window as well as updated information on Oscars Shortlist Screenings, Oscars Bake-Offs, and the Academy Museum.

"Nominations voting for the 97th Oscars opened this morning at 9am PT.

"We will be extending the voting window by two days to give members more time to cast their ballots. Voting will now close on Tuesday, January 14 at 5pm PT.

"As such, our Oscars Nominations Announcement will move from Friday, January 17 to Sunday, January 19. More information on the announcement will follow soon."

A host of stars have devastatingly lost their homes, including Paris Hilton, Sir Anthony Hopkins', Billy Crystal, and Mandy Moore.
