The Broncos have begun the NRL league season with a 50-14 away win over the Roosters, before dashing back to Queensland

Their families watched on from Brisbane, awaiting the arrival of Cyclone Alfred.

The Broncos left immediately to catch a charter plane to Toowoomba before the worst of the weather hit the south-east of the state.
