Black Cap Ish Sodhi's desperate to show his spinning evolution after earning a reprieve under incoming coach Rob Walter

The 32-year-old's been named over Adi Ashok for the T20 tri-series against South Africa and hosts Zimbabwe, despite Ashok picking up a centralised contract at Sodhi's expense.

Sodhi's been largely used in a holding role for New Zealand after the first six-over power play.

He's hopeful the appointment of Walter could bring about a change in his deployment.
