Could Malachi Subecz 's murder have been prevented by mandatory reporting?

A coronial inquiry's looking into five year-old's death of brain injuries in 2021 - after months of abuse by his carer, Michaela Barriball .

Detective Inspector Craig Rawlinson has detailed burns Malachi received in October 2021 - the first day of the school term.

Lawyer, Vivienne Crawshaw, questioned Rawlinson about the boy's absence from daycare that day.

She says he also didn't attend school but none of it was followed up at the time.
