Police are investigating after a cannabis cake was taken to a shared lunch at Hawke's Bay Hospital

Police are investigating after a cannabis cake was taken to a shared lunch at Hawke's Bay Hospital

Health Minister Simeon Brown has confirmed two people needed to be treated in ED after eating the laced baking on June 30.

He says it involved administrative staff - and no clinical staff were involved.

Brown says it was completely unacceptable behaviour.

He can't confirm whether the person who brought the cake in still works at the hospital.

Health NZ says they're taking this extremely seriously and are assisting Police with their investigation.
