A legal dispute over whether an incarcerated Auckland gang leader, was involved in a 20-million-dollar meth import scheme

A legal dispute over whether an incarcerated Auckland gang leader, was involved in a 20-million-dollar meth import scheme

Two gang associates have pleaded guilty to having organised the 200 kilogram import - which arrived in farming equipment.

Their leader's told the Auckland District Court this week he knows nothing of it.

The Crown's submitted video footage of the man doing what's described as a happy dance in the prison yard - within minutes of the equipment arriving at a safe house.

But the Defence argues the video's a stretch - and the man's involvement can't simply be inferred, because of his leadership role.
