Support from across the House - to make pay secrecy clauses unenforceable

Support from across the House - to make pay secrecy clauses unenforceable

The Employment Relations Amendment Bill introduced by Labour's Camilla Belich - has passed its third reading.

Now legal action can't be taken against workers talking about pay.

Belich says it's a small step forward.

She says this type of legislation has been used successfully overseas for fairer workplaces.

National's Vanessa Weenink says these clauses have made workers fearful of repercussions.

She says that's creates unease, mistrust and has perpetuated inequality.
