Investigations into Marokopa fugitive Tom Phillips continue, with examinations of his campsites expected to wrap up today

Investigations into Marokopa fugitive Tom Phillips continue, with examinations of his campsites expected to wrap up today

Phillips was shot dead by Police on Monday - after he shot an officer in the head, who remains in hospital.

Sources told our newsroom the officer's life was probably saved by the windscreen of his car, which deflected the gunfire.

An injunction initially granted by the High Court on Monday remains in place until at least Thursday - blocking media, police and Oranga Tamariki from sharing key information on Phillips.

His children remain in state care.
