Teddi Mellencamp suffered "extreme depression" after contracting COVID-19

The 44-year-old TV star - who is also receiving treatment for stage 4 cancer - has revealed that the illness led her to feel "hopeless"

Speaking to Erika Jayne on the Two T's in a Pod podcast, Teddi shared: "I almost needed to call you for advice because this past week has been so brutal.

"I ended up getting sick, right? ... I got COVID, which, I'm good now. Then I started feeling like extreme, extreme depression."

    Erika asked: "Like hopeless?"

And Teddi replied: "Hopeless. I haven't ever felt like that."

Despite this, Teddi is making a concerted effort to try to remain upbeat - even though she was crying "every single day".

She said: "All you can do is just try to stay as positive as you can and think about all the great things going on in your life.' But, I mean, I cried every single day."

Teddi also revealed that she's still struggling to "process" the journey she's been on in recent years.

The TV star explained: "I went from, like, having like this kind of chaotic life nonstop and then right into the hospital. And then I haven't been able to process."

Earlier this month, Teddi revealed that her cancer treatment was causing her to suffer from "severe anxiety".

The reality TV star - who previously underwent surgery and radiation treatment - explained that her immunotherapy sessions have left her feeling highly anxious for "no apparent reason".

In a video posted on Instagram, Teddi said: "OK for those of y'all who've gone through immunotherapy, did you have severe anxiety? Just on random days for no apparent reason?

"Like today I was able to walk, I did the [Two Ts in a Pod] podcast and now I'm just sitting here full of anxiety. Is this common?

"What are things that you guys have done to help make you feel better? Let me know. Looking for any positive advice."
