Kristin Davis has apologised to Bridget Moynahan for the way she treated her while they filmed Sex and the City together

The 60-year-old actress has admitted she "wasn't that nice" to her co-star, 54, when they shot together during the show's original run

Kristin, who played Charlotte York in both Sex and the City and its sequel And Just Like That, reflected on her behaviour while appearing on iHeartRadio's Are You A Charlotte? podcast, saying she had unintentionally "internalised" her character's personality and attitude towards Bridget, who played Natasha, the wife of Mr Big, Sarah Jessica Parker's on-screen love interest.

She added: "Normally, what I would do for guest star people - which were usually men - I would go and try to proactively be friendly, because it is such a scary situation.

"But because you were the nemesis of my friend on the show, I think I was a little bit like, 'Oh, I can't talk to her'.

"I don't think I was that nice to you. I feel really bad about that, Bridget."

Bridget, best known for her roles in Coyote Ugly and Blue Bloods, reassured her former castmate, responding: "It's OK now. Don't worry!"

She added with a laugh she was initially puzzled by Kristin's friendliness when the two later became friends.

The actress said: "We would run into each other at the gym all the time."

Kristin replied: "By then, we weren't in our characters anymore, and I could just be a normal person."

The star also explained that she realised how "silly" it was to let her character's emotions affect her real life.

She said: "I was less forgiving if you were somebody that I felt like was threatening my friend."

Bridget pointed out the on-screen tension between their characters mirrored fan reactions, saying: "Because they all love Big and Carrie together and somehow I was in the way.

"I actually said out loud sometimes, 'No, she was having an affair with my husband. Let's break this down'."

The discussion came as Kristin also reflected on the cancellation of And Just Like That, revealing the cast were unaware the sequel series would end after three seasons.

She has told Drew Barrymore on her talk show the cast and crew "didn't know" about the decision.

Kristin added: "Our commitment that we had made was a three-year commitment to each other, so we knew that part, but I just assumed that we were going to keep going."
