Breakers development player Tukaha Cooper has copped a one-month ban from basketball after testing positive for cannabis

Breakers development player Tukaha Cooper has copped a one-month ban from basketball after testing positive for cannabis

    - article from www.rugbyleague.co.nz

The Sports Integrity Commission have confirmed the test the Southland Sharks guard took after their loss to the Wellington Saints in the New Zealand NBL grand final on July 20 returned a positive result.

Cooper admitted recreational use of cannabis, and the Commission accepted it was out-of-competition and unrelated to sporting performance.

The 23-year-old, who hasn't taken the court for the Breakers during their current season, has had his ban backdated to October 24 - meaning he is now eligible to return.
