    Police are investigating after a man found unconscious in a car was left in critical condition in Rolleston, near Christchurch


    Officers were called to the scene at about 1:20 this morning.

    A police spokeswoman says the man received medical attention from bystanders before being taken by ambulance to Christchurch Hospital.

    She says he remains in intensive care.

    Police inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
