Daryl Mitchell's earned a recall to the New Zealand test cricket team for the West Indies series at the expense of the injured Colin de Grandhomme

All of the New Zealand and West Indies players in isolation in Christchurch have tested negative for Covid and are due to be released as scheduled tomorrow, a day ahead of their opening Twenty20 match in Auckland.

A couple of the big names won't be on the start line for the Sydney to Hobart Yacht race a month tomorrow.

Organisers have announced a bumper fleet of 89 boats but super maxis Wild Oats XI and Comanche with 12 line honours crowns between them will be missing.

The Wellington Phoenix hope to recruit some of their Wollongong neighbours into fans.

The Nix will be based in the city, 90k south of Sydney, for the new A-League football season which starts just after Christmas.
