    Julia Louis-Dreyfus will reunite with the cast of 'Veep' for a virtual table read

    The 59-year-old actress - who played Selina Meyer in the political satire from 2011 until it ended last year - will get back together with her former co-stars for America Votes, which is aiming to increase political awareness and voter turnout in the US for the upcoming run-off elections in Georgia


    In an announcement video on Instagram, scenes from a 2016 episode of the comedy show protesters demanding a recount in a presidential election as others demand the recount be stopped.

    Julia joked: "Over the last few weeks, many brave and patriotic Americans have come forward witnessing similarities between the ongoing election and the TV show 'Veep'."

    The actress then appeared to spoof Rudy Giuliani's recent press conference, as she had streaks of hair dye running down her face while wearing thick glasses.

    She said: "It's not just a singular example, but a pattern that repeats itself over and over.

    "Literally thousands, or hundreds of thousands, of cases that, to any experienced investigator, prosecutor, this would suggest there was a plan from a centralised place specifically focused on 'Veep'.

    "Have you watched Veep? Have you? It's one of my favourites - with the nice lady?

    "That's why, on Sunday, December 6... the original cast of 'Veep', plus some very special guests, will reunite for a virtual table read."

    The group will be reading the script for their Emmy-winning episode 'Mother', which included the vote-counting protest scenes and starred the likes of Anna Chlumsky (Amy Brookheimer), Tony Hale (Gary Walsh), Reid Scott (Dan Egan) and Timothy Simons (Jonah Ryan).

    Meanwhile, Julia previously admitted Donald Trump sometimes makes her miss working on 'Veep'.

    She said: "I think he's doing a better job of our show, except to say that it in fact isn't even remotely funny.

    "It does make me miss it. It was super funny. It's just hard to compete with that c**p."

    The 'Veep' live virtual table read will be held on December 6, and fans can reserve tickets at ShowUpForGeorgia.com.
