Wastewater testing for Covid-19 has kept coming back negative

Wastewater testing for Covid-19 has kept coming back negative

Institute of Environmental Science and Research tests can reportedly pick up even one person shedding the virus.

But there is a 48 hour lag on results.

Director General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield says samples from Monday taken at three Auckland sites, including Papatoetoe, were negative.

He says it was the same for tests in Rotorua and Christchurch.

There are no new community cases of Covid-19 today -- but six in MIQ.

Two people from MIQ are in Auckland hospitals -- one non-Covid related and the other still being investigated.
