The Privacy Commissioner's been notified of a burglary to Auckland's former Central Police Station

The Privacy Commissioner's been notified of a burglary to Auckland's former Central Police Station

The crime only came to light when an unrelated search in Mount Albert on Wednesday, uncovered documents and expired pepper spray.

Privacy Commissioner Liz MacPherson says police need to investigate the size and scope of the breach.

She says their focus is to advise agencies that've had a breach on minimising any harm.

A 41-year-old man is before the District Court charged with unlawful possession of a restricted weapon, burglary and possession of instruments for burglary.
