A homicide investigation continues in Auckland after Thursday's incident in Grey Lynn

One person was shot dead and three others injured, after the violent altercation between two groups believed to be known to each other.

A scene examination is ongoing at the Turangi Road address, with a post-mortem taking place today.

Detective Inspector Glenn Baldwin says it's too early to say if multiple people are involved, but they're primarily focused on the killer.

He says there will be an increased Police presence in the area over the coming days.

Baldwin says the community need to be their eyes and ears, and are urging anyone to call 111 immediately if they see anything suspicious.
