Thousands of people with cancer are set to benefit from new funding

Thousands of people with cancer are set to benefit from new funding

Pharmac will widen access from October to immunotherapy for six types of cancer, and fungal infection treatments.

It's the first decision on cancer medicines since the Government funding boost in June.

Pharmaceuticals Director, Geraldine MacGibbon, says this comes after feedback from patients.

She says taking into consideration people's experiences living with and treating cancer has helped them get the funding settings right.
