A former Labour Party leader believes Chris Hipkins will likely take the party into the next election

A former Labour Party leader believes Chris Hipkins will likely take the party into the next election

Hipkins says the party must change to regain the trust its lost - at an annual conference in Christchurch this weekend.

It's the first time its members have met since the 2023 election defeat.

David Cunliffe says it's ultimately a decision for the party.

He says Chris Hipkins will likely get a second chance but doesn't believe he'd get a third.
