Former Black Caps coach Mike Hesson believes the openers are a point of contention in New Zealand's ODI side heading into the Champions Trophy this week

Former Black Caps coach Mike Hesson believes the openers are a point of contention in New Zealand's ODI side heading into the Champions Trophy this week

It follows Devon Conway's 97 against South Africa in the tri-series, where he stepped in for the injured Rachin Ravindra who is recovering from a cut to the forehead.

Hesson says Conway may have sealed his place at the top of the order.

The Black Caps open the tournament against hosts Pakistan on Wednesday.
