    Queensland State of Origin league coach Billy Slater has made a game day apology after drawing a connection between the death of former coach Paul Green and comments directed at him by former New South Wales forward Aaron Woods

    Slater was labelled a "grub" by Woods and when Slater responded yesterday he referenced the suicide of Green in 2022 and the impact that words can have.

    Slater has called a media conference in Perth to say he was wrong to do so.
