Brad Pitt thinks younger actors "enjoy" their work a lot more than he used to

The 61-year-old actor - who stars alongside Damson Idris in F1 - has claimed that actors of his generation tend to be "a little more uptight" than their younger counterparts.

During an appearance on the New Heights podcast, Brad explained: "I like watching what the new generations are coming in with. To see what they're up against and also the way they negotiate their way through it. I feel like they enjoy it more.

"We were a little more uptight and had to be about acting. You didn't sell out, you didn't sell out, you didn't sell out. And now it's this thing of, 'Hey man, we can be artists in many different arenas. And so let's do it and let's enjoy it.'"

On the other hand, Brad noted that some young actors develop an unhealthy obsession with leading a film franchise.

The Hollywood star said: "They also get caught up in like, have to have a franchise or have to have a superhero or something like that, which I keep going, 'Don't. Don't. They will die.'"

Brad and Damson both worked with Sir Lewis Hamilton on F1, and the 33-year-old actor recently revealed that he relished learning from the former Formula One World Champion, who served as an ex ecutive producer on the film.

Damson told BBC 1Xtra: "When it comes to driving he really encouraged me.

"He brought that energy on set that just reminded us of how authentic this movie is and that was always our goal - to make the most authentic racing movie of all time.

"And Lewis is my brother as well so to see him getting his acting bag was so amazing to me."

Despite this, Damson admitted that shooting the action scenes was still challenging for him.

The London-born actor - who plays Brad's racing rival in the movie - shared: "You need to remember when you're driving those cars sometimes you're hitting 180 miles per hour. I was moving, it was fire.

"Then on top of that, you got to act within a movie, you've still got to try and look cute."
