Another small fall in building consent numbers

Another small fall in building consent numbers

The number of new homes consented in the year to July was down 0.1 percent compared to the previous year.

Stand-alone home consents rose 1.7 percent.

Multi-unit dwellings were down overall, due to the fall in the number of townhouses and retirement village units being consented.

However, the number of apartments consented did rise.
