The Wellingtonian accused of threatening a man with a samurai sword and demanding his Porsche has missed his first court appearance

The Wellingtonian accused of threatening a man with a samurai sword and demanding his Porsche has missed his first court appearance

John Charles Salanoa was undergoing surgery yesterday having been bitten by a Police dog.

The 54-year-old was scheduled to appear via video link from hospital, but the hearing's been adjourned until Monday.

Salanoa was also shot in the shoulder by Police on Sunday - after he broke into the multi-million dollar Wadestown house and tried to barricade himself inside.

Our newsroom understands the homeowner refused to give Salanoa the keys to his supercar, and is physically OK but shaken.
