Coleen Rooney gets "more nervous" watching her kids play football then she did with Wayne

The 39-year-old star - whose husband scored 183 goals for Manchester United and 53 for England over a glittering career - likes watching their sons Cass, eight, Kit, 10, Klay, 12 and Kai, 16, following in their famous father's footsteps but it's not always easy on the touchline.

She told OK! magazine: "I definitely get more nervous watching the boys but I do enjoy watching them.

"I try to make every match, but sometimes I can't make them all. I'll check the scores or keep an eye on the WhatsApp groups to see how they get on."

While all four boys enjoy playing, and Kai is even part of the Manchester United Under 18s team, the parents have never pushed them to pursue a certain dream.

Coleen explained: "Wayne and I have always wanted the boys to have good manners and be kind.

"They all have different personalities and are growing up so quick, but for us, we just want the boys to work hard and be happy."

Coleen also revealed how she and Wayne make time for themselves, despite balancing their own careers with raising four sons.

She said: "We always try to do something once a fortnight if we can. That might be grabbing a bite to eat, going out with friends, watching a movie or series together.

"It's not always easy with us both working, running around after the boys, but we do try to make time for each other when we can

"It's important to still do things together."

Meanwhile, she recently admitted it's "annoying" that her husband is at home more often.

The 40-year-old ex footballer is at their swanky £20 million pad in Cheshire, North West England, a lot more since the star became a football pundit after he hung up his player boots in 2021 and was manager of Derby County, Birmingham City, DC United and Plymouth Argyle.

Coleen told The Sunday Times newspaper: "In some ways it's good, in some ways it's annoying, because we've never had that much time together."

The media personality likes to take control and plan everything in a paper diary, but stressed that she and Wayne strive to find the "balance" at home.

Coleen said: "I like everything in order; he's a bit more laid-back."
