    Dairy prices have dipped at Fonterra's latest Global Dairy Trade auction overnight

    It's the first auction since the dairy giant announced expectations of a 675-million dollar loss for this financial year, after a huge write-down of assets.

    Overall prices are down 0.2-percent.

    The price of butter has plummeted 3.4-percent.

    However, the crucial whole milk powder price is up 2.1-percent.
