A Nelson pharmacy's been fined more than 300-thousand-dollars for price fixing

A Nelson pharmacy's been fined more than 300-thousand-dollars for price fixing

The Wellington High Court's ordered Prices Pharmacy and director Stuart Hebberd to pay fines of 344-thousand and 50-thousand respectively.

The pharmacy and its directors met with ten other pharmacy owners - and all agreed the charge customers six dollars instead of five for prescriptions.

Justice Robert Dobson says while the defendants didn't mean to break the law - even small changes in pricing can stop vulnerable people collecting all of their medication.
