There was major disruption to services yesterday after police were alerted to a threat made against the ferries.
A specialised search squad flew from Wellington to Picton to search both the BlueBridge and Interislander ferries and terminals.
A third ferry had to wait in the Marlborough Sounds until it had clearance to berth.
Nothing of significance was found.
A 33-year-old man has been arrested and will appear in the Blenheim District Court today, charged with threatening to harm people and property.
