Frustration in wider Otorohanga - as missing Marokopa man Tom Phillips remains elusive

Police say they believe Phillips and one of his children rode south on a red-farm style quad bike - that was stolen from a Te Anga property early this month.

CCTV shows two people smashing a shop front of a Piopio superette, and fleeing when the alarm went off.

Waitomo Mayor, John Robertson, says he's not aware of anyone within the community having knowledge of Phillips' whereabouts.

But he says people wish Phillips would come forward - and get the children out of their difficult situation.
