    Police are asking for the public's help to solve a fatal hit-and-run in Lower Hutt's Naenae


    A woman died after being struck by a car on Naenae Road, just before 6am yesterday.

    The dark-grey Mazda 6 sedan was earlier stolen from a Belmont address -- before speeding and driving erratically for hours before hitting the woman.

    It was found just before 12.30 yesterday afternoon on Waddington Drive in Naenae.

    Police is urging the driver, who would've known they'd hit someone, to come forward -- as well as anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage.

    After the collision, the car would have been showing visible damage.
