Police are expecting the largest gang funeral in the country's history - following the death of a senior Head Hunters member

William "Bird" Hines has died after years of poor health, brought on by type two diabetes.

He was released by the Parole Board late last year on compassionate grounds, just before his 70th birthday, after serving a 17-year prison sentence for running a methamphetamine syndicate

Hines' funeral will likely be closely monitored by police.
