The Tall Ferns are without centre Penina Davidson for next week's Olympic basketball qualifiers

The Tall Ferns are without centre Penina Davidson for next week's Olympic basketball qualifiers

She was the team's leading rebounder and second-best scorer at last year's Asia Cup.

Davidson has suffered a calf strain while playing for the Melbourne Boomers.

New Zealand are also concerned about the fitness of guard Charlisse Leger-Walker, who suffered a knee injury during her last US college outing for Washington State.

She has still been named in the 12-strong squad to take on China, France and Puerto Rico.
